Mount Barker is a popular tourist destination for people visiting the Adelaide Hills. The largest town in the region with a population of over 16,000 people, there is a large variety of things to see and do and many recreational activities to get involved in. Sitting at the base of Mount Barker Summit, its surrounded by hills, trees and streams that add a real sense of nature to the overall feel of the town.

Just up the hill from Keith Stephenson Park is the Mount Barker Cinema The cinema has seven screens, all with Dolby Digital Surround Sound to maximise the movies impact. The cinema is partially underground, and the rest is below. The cinema is right next to the Auchendarroch House restaurant, which is one of the leading restaurants in Mount Barker with a wide range of exquisite dishes.

Mount Barker also has two ovals, the Mount Barker oval, right next to The Recreation Centre in the town, as well as the other oval which is Dunn Park, which is located near Cornerstone College and the local town caravan park in which many tourists stay, although this oval is not used as much anymore compared to the others. more information

The many schools in the area also have their own ovals that the students use but also local sports teams. Mount Barker also has a public swimming pool, located near the caravan park, that is open from September to May during the warmer months of the year for all and anyone to use.

Mount Barker has a single 18-hole, 5,614m golf course that is near Bald Hills Road. The golf course is quite large and is constantly maintained to ensure it quality and look. The golf course can be use by anyone and has even held some smaller tournaments in the past.
