Stroll through lush Keith Stevenson Park, where you can see native trees and stream ways that will take your breath away, venture further and walk the linear trail to the wetlands for some of the best bird watching in Mount Barker, or climb Mount Barker Summit and take in the amazing views and see all there is to see of the Adelaide Hills. Mount Barker offers some of the best trail works and rivers that the Adelaide Hills region has to offer.

Walk down the tree-lined main street and see shops before stopping for coffee at one of the many cafes that Mount Barker is famous for. Taste a local drop at biodynamic vineyard Ngeringa or an award-winning drink at the local Prancing Pony Brewery. Stock up on fresh local produce at the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market, that is on every Saturday morning and offers recreational activities for your kids, and yes, you can even bring your dogs to the markets.

UKARIA Cultural Centre is located on the hillside of the Ngeringa property in the beautiful Adelaide Hills just outside Mount Barker. Concerts have been hosted there for acclaimed national and international artists since the mid-1990s. In late 2014 the concert room was demolished and replaced with an incredible 220-seat concert hall purpose built for chamber music and other types of music. An equal amount of time and care has been taken to ensure that the new hall has brilliant acoustics without compromising the amazing views over the valley and up to the Mt Barker Summit.

Mount Barker has a wide array of national parks and smaller localised parks that anyone can enjoy such as the Laratinga Wetlands which offer some beautiful wetland scenery as well as some of the best walking and hiking trails in the town. There are rivers and streams that flow through and the variety of wildlife, especially the birds offer some of the best bird watching in the region.
